Summary
- The connector brings your Kanban Pesquisa projects into ChatGPT and Claude. You ask in plain language: this week’s deadlines, the agenda for a supervision meeting, new tasks, references by DOI, citations.
- By default, the connection covers all your projects, including the ones you create or join later, and allows editing. You can limit it to chosen projects or to viewing. Kanban checks your permissions on every request.
- To create or edit several items, the assistant prepares a review of changes. Nothing changes in the project until you confirm.
- The connection lasts 90 days and can be revoked at any time in Integrations.
1. What you need
- A Kanban Pesquisa account and membership in at least one project. The example project, with fictional data, can also be connected, read-only.
- A Claude or ChatGPT account that allows connectors. Availability depends on the plan and the workspace policies.
2. Connect in Claude
It works in Claude on the web, on the desktop and on mobile. After you connect on the web or the desktop, the connector also shows up on mobile.
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. Look for Kanban Pesquisa in the connectors directory. If it isn’t there yet, click +, choose Add custom connector, enter the name “Kanban Pesquisa” and the URL
https://kanbanpesquisa.com.br/api/mcp. Leave the advanced settings blank. - Click Connect. Kanban opens so you can sign in and review the projects (all of yours by default) and Allow changes, which comes checked. Confirm and go back to Claude.
- In a new conversation, click +, open Connectors and check that Kanban Pesquisa is on.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization owner adds the connector once; then each member clicks Connect and authorizes their own account. In Claude Code, use claude mcp add --transport http kanban-pesquisa https://kanbanpesquisa.com.br/api/mcp and authenticate with /mcp.
3. Connect in ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, look for Kanban Pesquisa among the apps. If it isn’t there yet, turn on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login and create a custom connection with the name “Kanban Pesquisa”, the URL
https://kanbanpesquisa.com.br/api/mcpand OAuth authentication, leaving the client ID and secret blank. - Authorize in Kanban: sign in and review the projects (all of yours by default) and Allow changes, which comes checked.
- In a new conversation, add Kanban Pesquisa from the tools menu.
Codex and Work use the same URL. The steps for each app are in Integrations, after you sign in.
4. Permissions and revoking
- Projects: by default, every project you are part of, including the ones you create or join later; the example project is left out. If you prefer, choose specific projects: then new projects are not added, and including them takes a new connection.
- View or edit: Allow changes comes checked; unchecked, the assistant only reads. With it, the assistant can create and edit tasks, comments, documents and references and, if you administer the project, the budget and the settings. The connection never invites people, changes access or deletes projects.
- Role in the project: the connection never gives more access than you have on the website. Someone who can only view a project can still only view it through the assistant, and the example project is always read-only.
- Project requests: need a separate authorization. The assistant sends the request on your behalf, but creating the project depends on the hub administrators’ approval.
- History: changes appear in the project history under your name, marked as made through the integration.
- Revoking: in Integrations → Your connections, at any time. The authorization expires in 90 days. Signing out of the website does not disconnect the assistant.
5. What to ask
Some requests that work well:
- “What is due this week in my Kanban Pesquisa projects?”
- “Which tasks in the Dissertation project are overdue or blocked?”
- “Prepare the agenda for the next supervision meeting of the Dissertation project.”
- “Create three tasks in the Dissertation project for the literature review, due next Friday.”
- “Add the reference with DOI 10.1590/… to the Dissertation project and generate its ABNT citation.”
- “Summarize the week of the Dissertation project.”
The assistant looks the project up before changing it. Titles, comments and documents in projects are treated as data, never as instructions.
6. Panel in the conversation
In Claude and ChatGPT, Kanban’s answers appear in a panel inside the conversation, with the app’s own look:
- Lists of tasks, deadlines, documents and references show the key numbers and the most urgent items, with See all for the full list in fullscreen and Open in Kanban.
- A task shows its status, priority, deadline, owners, checklist and comments. Ask about this task brings the task into the conversation; in ChatGPT, it goes to the message field without being sent.
- The review of changes lists everything that will change, with the before and after of each field. The Apply button saves everything at once; the review is valid for 15 minutes and can be applied only once.
In the ChatGPT desktop app, when the feature is available to your account, Kanban also opens in the sidebar, with your projects, each project’s board and the week’s pending tasks.
7. Tools
The assistant picks the tool that fits the request. Lookup tools never change data. Tool names appear in Portuguese, as in the product.

8. Privacy
When you use a tool, Kanban sends the assistant the records needed to answer the request. Kanban does not receive your conversations, only the requests the assistant makes to the tools. 9. Common problems
- “Couldn’t open” or an old-looking panel: the app kept the tool list from before an update. Refresh the connector in its settings (or disconnect and connect again) and start a new conversation.
- Project not authorized: the connection was made with chosen projects and doesn’t include this one. Create a new connection, with all projects or including this one, and revoke the previous one.
- View-only connection: to edit, create a new connection with Allow changes.
- Expired review: ask for a new review in the conversation; after 15 minutes, the previous one can no longer be applied.
- Expired connection: after 90 days, connect again.
